Tomorrow I am headed to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (with a quick stop in Dubai) to serve with the Adera Foundation and other TCU students for two weeks. I am beyond excited for this incredible opportunity and have been anxiously awaiting this day all year. I found out about this summer trip and internship in August through my communications class at TCU. We were instructed to find our dream job on the TCU FrogJobs website and write a paragraph about why effective communication would be important in that field. When I found the Adera internship, I knew it was an opportunity I couldn’t let slip away. It truly was my dream job. I emailed Julie, the woman in charge of our trip, as soon as I read the job posting and expressed interest. We met for coffee in early September and I interviewed with her for the position in early November. I was so nervous waiting to find out whether or not I had gotten the internship and woke up one morning to one of the best emails I have ever received. I truly feel that God has called me to serve with the Adera Foundation in Ethiopia this summer, and I cannot wait to see what He has in store for us there over the next two weeks. Please keep our group in your prayers while we travel and spend time serving across the world. I’ll be sure to share updates as much as possible and can’t wait to share my amazing experiences with all of you!
